Liquid index, abbreviated as LI, is scaling the natural moisture content of a soil sample to the liquid limit and plastic limit.

formulas that use Liquidity Index

\(\large{ LI =  \frac{ w_n \;-\;PL }{ LL \;-\; PL }   }\)

\(\large{ LI } \) = liquidity index

\(\large{ LL } \) = liquid limits

\(\large{ w_n }\) = natural water content

\(\large{ PL }\) = plastic limits
