The spring axial deflection is for helical spring deflection.

Spring Axial Deflection Formula

\(\large{ \delta = \frac { 8 F C^3 n  } { G d }    \left(  1 +  \frac { 0.5  } { C^2 }  \right)   }\)

Where:

\(\large{ \delta }\) = spring axial deflection

\(\large{ F }\) = axial force

\(\large{ G }\) = modulus of rigidity

\(\large{ n }\) = number of active coils

\(\large{ C }\) = spring index

\(\large{ d }\) = wire diameter
