The spring deflection is for helical spring deflection.

Spring Deflection Formula

\(\large{ d_s = \frac{ 8 \; P \; C^3 \; n_a  }{ G \; d }  \;  \left(  1 +  \frac { 0.5  } { C^2 }  \right)   }\)

Where:

\(\large{ d_s }\) = spring axial deflection

\(\large{ P }\) = axial force

\(\large{ G }\) = modulus of rigidity

\(\large{ n_a }\) = number of active coils

\(\large{ C }\) = spring index

\(\large{ d }\) = wire diameter
