Positioner

on . Posted in Valve

A positioner is device that attaches to a valve actuator that receives an electronic or pneumatic signal and moves the valve to a certain position.  Some positioners have the ability to provide valve position feedback to the PLC.  Position feedback can be used to predict when the control valve needs maintenance or can be used to ensure the output of the valve is equal to what is being called for by the PLC.
