Wavelength

Wavelength is the distance between the crests of a wave.

Abbreviated as \(\lambda\) (Greek symbol nu)

formula

\(\lambda =   \frac { v_w } { f } \)

Where:

\(\lambda\) = wavelength, m

\(v_w\) = wave velocity, m/s

\(f\) = frequency, cycles/s of Hz

Solve for:

\(f = \frac { v_w } { \lambda }   \)
