Specific weight is the weight per unit volume of a substance.

Where:

\(\large{ \gamma }\) (Greek symbol gamma) = specific weight

\(\large{ \rho }\) (Greek symbol rho) = density

\(\large{ g }\) = gravitational acceleration (9.80665 m/s^{2} or 32.1740 ft/s^{2})

\(\large{ NPSH }\) = net positive suction head

\(\large{ p }\) = pressure

\(\large{ p_s }\) = vapor pressure

\(\large{ v }\) = velocity
