# Dielectric Constant

Dielectric constant, abbreviated as \(\epsilon\) (greek symbol epsilon), (measured in farads/meter, F/m) is the measure of a substance to an electric field expressed as the ratio of its electric displacement to the applied field strength.

### Dielectric Constant formula

\(\large{ \epsilon = \frac{ \epsilon_s }{ \epsilon_0 } }\)

Where:

\(\large{ \epsilon }\) (greek symbol epsilon) = dielectric constant

\(\large{ \epsilon_s }\) = permittivity of the substance

\(\large{ \epsilon_0 }\) = permittivity of a vacuum
