Bodenstein Number

Bodenstein number ( \(Bo\) ) (dimensionless number) is used in mass transfer and diffusion in reactors calculations in particular.

Bodenstein Number FORMULA

\(\large{ Bo = \frac {VL}  {D_a} }\)

Where:

\(\large{ Bo }\) = Bodenstein number

\(\large{ D_a }\) = effective axial diffusivity

\(\large{ L }\) = reaction length

\(\large{ V }\) = velocity
