Bodenstein Number

Bodenstein number ( \(Bo\) ) (dimensionless number) is used in mass transfer and diffusion in reactors calculations in particular.

Bodenstein Number FORMULA

\(Bo = \frac {VL}  {D_a} \)          \( Bodenstein \; number    \;=\;    \frac { velocity \;\;x\;\;  reaction \;\;x\;\;  length }  {  effective \; axial \; diffusivity } \)

Where:

\(Bo\) = Bodenstein number

\(D_a\) = effective axial diffusivity

\(L\) = reaction length

\(V\) = velocity
