Potential Energy of a Fluid at an Elevation

Written by Jerry Ratzlaff on . Posted in Electromagnetism

A fluid at a higher elevation will have more energy than the same fluid at a lower elevation. Potential energy is normally expressed per mass unit.

Potential Energy of a Fluid at an Elevation formula

\(\large{ E_z = z \;  g  }\)

Where:

\(\large{ E_z }\) = energy elevation

\(\large{ z }\) = elevation

\(\large{ g }\) = gravity
