Brake Horsepower formula

\(\large{ BHP = \frac {100\;Q\;h} {3960\;n}  }\)

Where:

\(\large{ BHP }\) = brake horsepower

\(\large{ Q }\) = discharge flow rate

\(\large{ h }\) = total head

\(\large{ n }\) = total pump efficiency

\(\large{ WHP }\) = water horsepower

Solve for:

\(\large{ Q = \frac {3960\; WHP} {h}  }\)

\(\large{ h = \frac {3960\; WHP} {Q}  }\)

\(\large{ n = \frac {WHP} {BHP}  }\)

\(\large{ WHP = \frac {Q \; h} {3960}  }\)
