matter phasesMelting, also called fusion, is a transitional phase from solid to liquid.  This physical process is where the internal energy starts rising above the freezing point, the order of the atoms or molecules start moving around to create a liquid.

There are four phases of matter: gas, liquid, plasma, and solid.
