Bend Allowance

bend allowance 1Bend allowance, abbreviated as BA, is the length of the arc through the bend area at the neutral axis.

Bend Allowance Formula

\(\large{ BA  =  \theta\; \frac{\pi}{180} \;\left( r + K \; T \right)   }\)

Where:

\(\large{ BA }\) = bend allowance

\(\large{ \theta }\) = bend angle

\(\large{ r }\) = inside bend radius

\(\large{ K }\) = K-factor constant

\(\large{ T }\)  = material thickness

\(\large{ \pi }\)  = Pi
