An energy isolating device (lockout/tagout) is a mechanical device that physically prevents the transmission or release of energy, such as:

  • Double block and bleed
  • Disconnect switch
  • Line valve
  • Manually operated electrical circuit breaker
  • Push buttons
  • Slide gate
  • Spec blind
  • Any similar device used to block or isolate energy
