## Volume of water formulas

 $$\large{ V_w = k \; i \; A_c \; t }$$ $$\large{ V_w = k \; A_c \; t \; \frac{ h_l }{ L } }$$ $$\large{ V_w = \frac{ S \; e \; V_t }{ 1 \;+\; e } }$$

### Where:

$$\large{ V_w }$$ = volume of water

$$\large{ A_c }$$ = area cross-section

$$\large{ S }$$ = degree of saturation

$$\large{ t }$$ = duration of time for collection of water

$$\large{ h_l }$$ = head loss

$$\large{ i }$$ = hydraulic gradient

$$\large{ L }$$ = length of the sample

$$\large{ k }$$ = permeability coefficient

$$\large{ V_t }$$ = total volume of soil

$$\large{ e }$$ = void ratio
