# Stopping Distance

When a vehicle is moving at a certain velocity then has to come to a complete stop, the distance from applying the brakes to complete stop is the stopping distance.

\(\large{ d }\) = stopping distance

\(\large{ v }\) = velocity

\(\large{ \mu }\) = friction coefficient
