Total Pump Efficiency

Total pump efficency, abbreviated as \(\eta_{tp}\) (Greek symbol eta), a dimensionless number, is the conversion of one form of energy into another form of energy.

Where:

 Units English Metric
\(\large{ \eta_{tp} }\)  (Greek symbol eta) = total pump efficiency \(\large{dimensionless}\)
\(\large{ BHP }\) = brake horsepower \(\large{\frac{ft-lbf}{sec}}\) \(\large{\frac{Btu}{s}}\)
\(\large{ WHP }\) = water horsepower \(\large{\frac{ft-lbf}{sec}}\) \(\large{\frac{Btu}{s}}\)
