Total Pump Efficiency

Written by Jerry Ratzlaff on . Posted in Fluid Dynamics

Total pump efficency, abbreviated as \(\eta_{tp}\) (Greek symbol eta), is the conversion of one form of energy into another form of energy.

Total Pump Efficiency formula

\(\large{ \eta_{tp} = \frac{WHP}{BHP} }\)

Where:

\(\large{ \eta_{tp} }\)  (Greek symbol eta) = total pump efficiency

\(\large{ BHP }\) = brake horsepower

\(\large{ WHP }\) = water horsepower
