\(|A-B|\) distance between A and B \(|A-B| = 9\)
\(\parallel\) parallel to \(\overline {AB} \parallel \overline {XY} \)
\(\nparallel\) not parallel to \(\overline {AB} \nparallel \overline {XY} \)
\(\perp\) perpendicular lines \(\overline {AB} \perp \overline {XY} \)
