Mean free path, abbreviated as \(\lambda\) (Greek symbol lambda), is the average distance that a object travels between collisions.

Mean free path Formula

\(\large{ \lambda = Kn \; l }\)     (Knudsen number)

Where:

\(\large{ \lambda }\) (Greek symbol lambda) = mean free path

\(\large{ Kn }\) = Knudsen number

\(\large{ l }\) = length
