Transmission Delay
Transmission delay, also called transmission time, is the time it takes to push all the bits of a packet onto the network link from the sender to the receiver. It depends on the size of the data being sent and the bandwidth (capacity) of the communication channel.
A Couple of Factors Influence Transmission Delay
Packet Size - The total size of the data being transmitted, usually measured in bits or bytes.
Bandwidth (B) - The rate at which data can be transmitted over the communication channel, typically measured in bits per second (bps).
Transmission delay differs from other types of delays like propagation delay, which is the time it takes for a signal to travel through the medium from sender to receiver.
