Number of Blocks in a Wall

This formula provides an estimate of the number of blocks/bricks required based on the dimensions of the wall and the size of the individual blocks.

Number of Blocks in a Wall formula

\( n \;=\;  \dfrac{  W_l \cdot W_h  }{  \dfrac{ B_l }{ t }  \cdot   \dfrac{ B_h }{ t }   }\)
Symbol English Metric
\( n \) = Number of Blocks \(dimensionless\) \(dimensionless\)
\( W_l \) = Wall Length \(ft\) \(m\)
\( W_h \) = Wall Height \(ft\) \(m\)
\( B_l \) = Block/Bdrick Length (Individual Block) \(in\) \(mm\)
\( t \) = Thickness of Mortar Joint \(in\) \(mm\)
\( B_h \) = Block/Brick Height (Individual Block) \(in\) \(mm\)
