Nyquist Rate

on . Posted in Telecommunications Engineering

Nyquist rate, abbreviated as \( f_n \), also called Nyquist sampling rate, is the theoretical minimum sampling rate at which a signal can be sampled and still can be reconstructed from its samples without any distortion is called the Nyquist rate of sampling.

Nyquist Rate Formula

\( f_n \;=\;  2 \cdot f_m  \)
Symbol English Metric
\( f_n \) = Nyquist Rate
- \( bits \;/\; s \)
\( f_m \) = Maximum Frequency Component present in Signal - \(MHz\)
