Schematic Diagram
A schematic diagram or elementary diagram shows every wire and device involved in the control of an electrical load. It tells exactly how the control system is to function, gives information on interlocks with other equipment control and provides device and conductor identification. The schematic diagram typically does not give locations of equipment and not tell the installer exactly how to connect the conductors. The presentation of physical wiring information is not the function of the elementary/schematic diagram. The sizes, ratings, etc. given on the one line are not to be repeated on the elementary/schematic diagram.
