Underwater Pressure

Underwater pressure, abbreviated as \(p_u\), is the added pressure exerted underwater directly above a spot at the water level.

 Units English Metric
\(\large{ p_u }\) = underwater pressure \(\large{\frac{lbf}{in^2}}\)  \(\large{Pa}\) 
\(\large{ g }\) = gravitational acceleration \(\large{\frac{ft}{sec^2}}\)   \(\large{\frac{m}{s^2}}\)  
\(\large{ d }\) = depth under water \(\large{ft}\)  \(\large{m}\)
