Psychology is the study of behavior and mental processes. It is concerned with how individuals think, feel, and act, both as a function of internal processes such as perception, cognition, emotion, and motivation and in response to external environmental stimuli. As a science, psychology applies rigorous methodologies to investigate phenomena ranging from neural activity in the brain to complex social interactions among individuals and groups. It integrates biological, cognitive, and socio-environmental perspectives to explain behavior across different contexts and stages of life.Psychology also has both theoretical and applied dimensions. Theoretical psychology seeks to construct general principles and models that explain behavior and mental processes, while applied use these principles to address practical problems in domains such as mental health, education, industry, and public policy.
