Nipple

Nipple, abbreviated as NIP, is a short length of pipe typically with male threads at each end, used to connect two other fittings or pipes.  They are commonly made from materials like steel, brass, or stainless steel and are available in various sizes and diameters to fit different piping systems.  Pipe nipples come in various configurations, including straight nipples (with both ends having the same diameter), reducing nipples (with one end larger in diameter than the other), and close nipples (very short lengths of pipe).  They are threaded on both ends to allow for easy installation by screwing them into the corresponding female threaded fittings or pipes.

Pipe nipples are often used in plumbing, piping, and industrial applications for various purposes such as extending pipe lengths, connecting different types of fittings, or creating branches in a piping system.  They provide a convenient and reliable way to join pipes or fittings together in a tight and secure manner.
