Random Length
Straight pipe comes in random, double random, and cut length. Random lengths (RL)are from 18 to 25 feet, and sometimes double random lengths from 38 to 48 feet. The ends of the pipe lengths are normally plain ends (PE), beveled ends (BE) for welding, or threaded and supplied with one coupling per length (threaded or coupled, or T&C). Cut lengths are made to order and some can even come in about 80 foot lengths. Pipe random length refers to a specification for the length of pipes in which each individual pipe has a length that falls within a certain range of values, and there is no specific predetermined length for each pipe. This is in contrast to pipes that are manufactured in fixed or standard lengths.
In a pipe random length, the exact length of each pipe can vary, but it will be within an acceptable range specified by industry standards or project requirements. This approach is often used to accommodate different installation needs without excessive waste or the need for extensive cutting. Random length pipes are commonly used in industries such as construction, plumbing, and manufacturing, where pipes are required to fit various configurations and systems. By allowing for variations in length within a defined range, random length pipes can be more versatile and adaptable to different applications.
When working with pipes of random length, it's important to adhere to relevant industry standards and guidelines to ensure proper installation, structural integrity, and overall performance within the intended system.
