- FCS - forged carbon steel
A threaded pipe fitting is one where the pipe is threaded into a recessed area of the fitting. To make a threaded fitting, a threaded connection is cut into the pipe and the fitting. Typically, the male end of the thread is attributed to the pipe and the female end is the fitting. An exception to this is a street elbow which has both a male and female connection.
